Chicken drinking out of water line

Schnitz: Hand crafted, and now higher welfare

With a focus on locally-sourced ingredients and hand-crafted schnitzels in each of their 70+ stores, Schnitz now has another reason to proudly spruik their offering: they’ve joined the growing list of companies supporting higher-welfare farming by now serving 100% RSPCA Approved chicken.

If you eat at Schnitz restaurants, you’ll be supporting a brand that values better farm animal welfare and sources chicken from a producer that has undergone a rigorous certification process.

Meat chickens reared to the RSPCA Standard live in environments that encourage them to express their natural behaviours, with good quality litter to dust bathe and forage in, perches to help improve leg health, and interesting objects to engage them. Providing this environment has a positive impact on the birds’ welfare by encouraging physical activity and allowing them to do what comes naturally, which improves their overall wellbeing.

Your choices matter – if you choose to eat chicken, by choosing RSPCA Approved you can help drive a future of higher-welfare farming and improve the lives of Australia’s farm animals.

Schnitz stores can be found in NSW, VIC, QLD and WA
